The Japanese government has eased immigration restrictions for business travelers to Japan from the 8th of November 2021. The self-quarantine period for business travelers to Japan with vaccination certificates is reduced to 3 days instead of previous 14 days. Foreign students and technical trainees are also permitted to enter Japan as well. Their self-quarantine period is 10 days instead of previous 14 days. The number of newly infected people of COVID-19 is decreased to less than a few hundreds recently although which was more than 25,000 in August 2021.

The state of emergency for measures against COVID-19 infection has been lifted all over Japan on the 30th of September. It was first declared by Japanese Government on 7th of April on 2020 and the cancellation and declaration has been repeated several times. However, it has finally been lifted.
Travel restrictions across prefectures in Japan were lifted on June 19. People now can be moved to the other prefectures but still being advised to avoid travel to and from Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa and Saitama as well as Hokkaido if it is not urgent or essential.
Japan has introduced entry restrictions for travelers from 100 countries in response to the new coronavirus infections worldwid. Countries put on the list of entry ban are as follows; - Countries listed from April 3 Asia: Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia Oceania: Australia, New Zealand North America: Canada, United States South and Central America: Ecuador, Chile, Dominica, Panama, Brazil, Bolivia...
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced to completely lift the state of emergency over the new coronavirus pandemic on 25 May.
The Japanese government lifted the state of emergency declared over the outbreak of the new coronavirus in 39 of Japan's 47 prefectures, today. Eight prefectures which are still under the emergency state are Hokkaido, Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, Kanagawa, Osaka, Hyogo, and Kyoto.
