The Japanese government lifted the state of emergency declared over the outbreak of the new coronavirus in 39 of Japan's 47 prefectures, today.
Eight prefectures which are still under the emergency state are Hokkaido, Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, Kanagawa, Osaka, Hyogo, and Kyoto.
